Kim Kardashian Launched a New Skims Line With Major 2000s Vibes

Kim Kardashian made major headlines back in October 2020 when she launched her SKIMS velour collection. She was paying ode to the early 2000s with this one as the line closely resembles some of the iconic loungewear that was often worn back then – velour tracksuits.

Kim Kardashian and Her Velour Tracksuits

2003 called and they want their velour tracksuits back. For Kim K, that’s no problem as she launched her velour tracksuit line for her brand, Skims. She and her long-time best friend, Paris Hilton, modeled the new collection showing off not only the loungewear but also a few other early 2000s pieces. From vintage Louis Vuitton handbags to Sidekick and Blackberry phones, Kim Kardashian included it all in her campaign photos.

In the pictures Kim posted to her Instagram of her and Paris Hilton modeling the Skims velour tracksuits, she mentioned that similar tracksuits were like their uniform and she was incredibly excited to make her version.

Paris Hilton posted similar photos to her own Instagram where she added that the velour tracksuits were one of her favorite trends from the 2000s and that they now have a major upgrade, thanks to Kim K.

When Kim Kardashian was interviewed for Vouge, she talked about her inspiration for the loungewear line. She noted that she had been working on the specific line for more than a year. According to Kim, the velour collection is one of her favorite launches to date, and it’s the perfect blend of present-day loungewear and 2000s nostalgia.

Paris even mentioned that the Skims velour loungewear is perfect for when you want to look hot and still be comfy. Kim admitted to still wearing the same iconic pieces that she made fashionable over 20 years ago. They’ve continuously been a closet staple for both the fashionistas over the years.
